Chicago's Gold Coast Neighborhood

Gold Coast Neighbors Association

One of Chicago's most treasured residential areas with its quiet, tree-lined streets, stately homes and connections to the city's past, the prestigious Gold Coast neighborhood is home to the world renowned Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue.

The Gold Coast is a mix of grand 19th century mansions, luxury high-rise condominiums and renovated gray and brownstone walkups.

The Gold Coast neighborhood caters to every taste with notable sophistication and world-wide recognition. People from all over the city come here to dine on everything from fresh sushi to upscale Italian to burger and fries! The Gold Coast is also home to Navy Pier, the place where residents and tourists alike come together to enjoy all the fun and beauty of a day on Lake Michigan. Oak Street Beach and other beach front parks provide residents plenty of outdoor space for recreation.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is a popular attraction in this area as well. One of the nation's largest facilities devoted to the art of our time, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) offers exhibitions of the most thought-provoking art created since 1945. The MCA boasts a terraced sculpture garden with a great view of Lake Michigan.

Some of the city's best-rated schools are found in the Gold Coast neighborhood including Ogden Elementary (a highly-regarded primary school), the Latin School college preparatory (junior kindergarten through twelfth grade), and Loyola University's Water Tower campus.
